There was a huge amount of enthusiasm, so many things to discuss and not enough time!
We'll post the official minutes of the meeting on the website at a later date, but here's a flavour of what we discussed.
We need to do is make sure we spend the money on what people actually want. Many residents have given us their ideas through meetings and social media, but we need to get out in to the streets and shopping areas to speak to all residents across all ages. To do this we are going to train up some residents to be Community Researchers. Sounds daunting? Actually it will be a lot of fun and the people will get some extra skills at the same time.
Would you be interested in becoming a Community Researcher - read more about it by clicking here. There will be a taster day coming up - don't miss out.
So what else have we got going on to launch Big Worle? A leaflet drop to keep you informed, a stand at Sainsbury's to come, a drop in centre for you to give your suggestions .
Plus we have opportunities to get some young people trained up as Young Advisors, Age UK involved with engaging the older members of our community, and we heard about ideas for a boxing and martial arts training centre, fitness trails, business start up grants as well as the ideas already on the website.
We are hoping to have the vision for Big Worle based on all the feedback and research by the end of Summer - so get in touch now.
And please share your thoughts in the comments box below - we read them all.
Never been involved in a community project before?
Well until this, neither had I - so let's get together and make Worle an even greater place to live and work.
