Big Worle Showbiz Big Worle Showbiz has now been operating for over four months, with the Choir being the first section operational.
Big Worle Showbiz Choir The Big Worle Showbiz Choir has been operating for over four months with a membership of over 100 and an average attendance of 60 members. The Choir is a community choir and membership is based solely upon a desire to take part and sing. Auditions are not required to join the choir. As the name suggests our repertoire is based upon songs from the major stage shows such as Les Miserables. We currently have seven major songs, including “I Dreamed a Dream”, “One”, “The Rhythm of Life” and several smaller pieces. Big Worle Showbiz Choir meets weekly at Becket Primary School in Tavistock Road on Thursdays at 7.30pm. The Choir is currently in need of male members, particularly tenors. The Choir is run by a small committee and is headed by well known local musicians Bob Gibbons and Bill Stagg. Bob is our Musical Director and Bill is our accompanist. Our first concert will be held at Priory School on 18 January 2014. Look out for further details on this site and at local shops and venues. More events are being planned. Big Worle Showbiz Technicians We are currently working with a Weston company and Unltd, a charity dedicated to supporting social entrepreneurs. The objective is to train a number of local people in the Big Worle area to provide and operate lighting and sound systems to support the other sections of Big Worle Showbiz. This training will also provide employment opportunities. We hope to start the training programme in the near future.
